Arāya Ventures Research
Investment Thesis
Arāya Ventures is a London-based pre-seed and seed venture firm that invests in exceptional founders globally across AI, healthcare, commerce, fintech and the future of work. The firm describes its mission as investing in founders shaping our future. Third-party profiles say more than 65% of its investments are in AI application companies, and the portfolio bears this out: most companies pair a vertical (health, recruitment, payments, sales tooling) with applied AI. Arāya also runs a dedicated fund for women-led startups, which signals an explicit view that diverse leadership drives outsized returns.
Funds
Arāya operates three funds, shown on its homepage:
- Super Angel Fund: $26.3M (about £18.2M at close), UK, pre-seed and seed, S/EIS-qualifying. 80% is deployed in the UK and 20% into high-conviction global opportunities. Final close was announced in July 2025 after a $23M second close in May 2025. The British Business Bank backed the first fund, which plans about 60 startups.
- Global Fund: $30M, global seed, investing across Europe, the GCC and Asia, with 40% of capital reserved for Series A follow-on investments into the highest-conviction portfolio companies.
- Arāya Sie Fund: $20M target, UK pre-seed and seed, S/EIS-qualifying, for women-led startups in healthcare, climate, fintech and deeptech/AI. Press reported a £7.5M first close.
Stage Focus
Pre-seed and seed only, with Series A follow-ons reserved through the Global fund. The firm's own tagline is Pre-Seed and Seed Ventures.
Check Size
The website does not state typical check sizes. No figure is recorded here rather than guessing. The Super Angel fund is sized for roughly 60 portfolio companies, which implies small initial checks.
Lead Tendency
Unknown. Some rounds are co-led (for example Beatpulse Labs' £1.3M round was reported as led by Arāya and Lighthouse Ventures), but there is not enough evidence to classify the firm as a lead or follower.
Recent Activity
The firm is actively deploying. Third-party data lists Sync Savings as a September 2026 investment, and Chiron Health and Beatpulse Labs among its latest 2026 deals. Earlier named investments include Capably, Research Grid (R.Grid) and Cold. The Arāya Sie Fund first close and the Super Angel final close are the main fund events in the last 18 months.

Decision Process
Not published. A multi-partner structure with fund-specific partners (Super Angel, Global, Sie) suggests partnership decisions per fund. Founders pitch through an Airtable form linked from the website; there is no stated warm-intro requirement.
Founder Preferences
The site says only that Arāya backs exceptional founders. The Sie fund targets women-led teams, and the portfolio shows a pattern of founders building AI-native products for regulated or fragmented verticals (health, finance, recruitment).
Geographic Focus
UK first for the Super Angel and Sie funds (S/EIS qualifying, so UK-based companies), with the Global fund covering Europe, the GCC and Asia. The firm has a GCC investment lead and portfolio companies in Switzerland (Aeon), Europe (Paypercut) and MENA. Arāya is an Appointed Representative of The Fund Incubator (FCA reference 208716).
