Enable Ventures Research
Investment Thesis
Enable Ventures bills itself as the first impact venture fund dedicated to closing the disability wealth gap while earning competitive, market-rate returns. It invests in early-stage companies that treat disability as an asset and build products and services on universal design. The firm is part of the Sorenson Impact Group platform of funds and is led by Regina "Gina" Kline, a former U.S. Department of Justice civil rights trial attorney. The pitch is a double bottom line: profit and purpose in the historically underserved global disability community.
Investment Approach
The firm describes four areas of focus on its Investment Approach page:
- Up-skilling, re-skilling and future-proofing work: capital for training and credentialing, including workers with intellectual disabilities, blind and low-vision workers, veterans and people with mental health disabilities.
- Founders with disabilities: backing entrepreneurs with lived experience of disability, who have unequal access to wealth, equity and social capital.
- Work-related technology: universally designed tools that raise labor force participation for everyone.
- Next-generation assistive technology: frontier technology for independent living and economic self-sufficiency. Over one billion people need assistive technology and only about one in ten has it.
Recent press describes a growing emphasis on AI-driven, disability-inclusive products.
Stage Focus
Enable invests from Seed through Series A. Gina Kline's bio describes Seed through Series A investments, and Principal Charlotte Magee's background spans Pre-seed to Series A. Third-party coverage describes the fund as skewing toward mature seed and Series A, with traction already in hand.
Check Size
Check size is not publicly disclosed. The fund is $50.31M, so checks are likely in the low single-digit millions. No check range is submitted because none is sourced.
Lead Tendency
The firm led the Series A+ round in Be My Eyes (January 2025) and describes itself as Impact Lead for its portfolio companies. It also announced a co-investment partnership with Liberty Mutual Investments in May 2025. Lead tendency is therefore both.
Recent Activity
- January 2025: announced a lead investment in the Series A+ round of Be My Eyes.
- May 2025: strategic partnership with Liberty Mutual Investments for co-investment.
- August 2024: Mindset Care raised $13M in total funding.
- Late 2026: reported close of a $50.31M debut fund (secondary sources; the target was reportedly about $75M).
Portfolio Highlights
The website lists eleven companies: Ava, Cionic, DeepWalk, Inclusively, Mindset Care, Wheel the World, Be My Eyes, Daivergent, Goodpath, Kalogon and Pear Suite. They span worktech, digital health, neurotechnology and assistive technology. Be My Eyes has partnerships with Microsoft, OpenAI and Meta. No exits are published.
Team

- Emma Stone, Vice President: Harvard public policy and MIT business degrees, former Enable summer venture fellow.

Decision Process
A small partnership led by the Managing Partner. Inbound deal flow comes from the disability community, a donor-advised-fund pipeline, accelerator relationships and the Sorenson network.
Founder Preferences
Founders with lived experience of disability, or teams co-designing with the disability community. Products should be universally designed and increasingly AI-driven. Founders with early traction are a better fit than pre-revenue teams.
