Kriscore Capital Research
Investment Thesis
Kriscore Capital is a Mumbai-based early-stage venture firm investing in Indian technology startups. Its homepage frames the thesis as 'Investing in India's Next Decade': India is mid-transition, and the best companies are being built in the gap between structural constraints and rising infrastructure, demographics and consumption. The firm backs founders who turn those constraints into long-term, defensible moats. The thesis is organised around five macro tailwinds that cut across sectors:
- Make in India 2.0: digital infrastructure upgrading fragmented Indian suppliers into export-grade players
- India Without Borders: using India's talent dividend to address developed-world shortages
- Built for Bharat: commerce, credit and trust infrastructure for aspirational India
- India's Carbon Calculus: exportable climate tech and clean infrastructure solutions
- Frontier Tech: defence, space and biotech powered by indigenous innovation
At launch (May 2025) the stated themes were the digital consumer wave, China+1 supply chain opportunities, global export of India's premium offerings, GenAI-powered services and India's Net Zero 2070 goals. The fund is described as sector-agnostic.
Stage Focus
Pre-seed and seed. All four known portfolio investments are seed rounds, per Tracxn.
Check Size
The firm does not publish a check size. The debut fund targets Rs 100 crore (about $11.6M) plus a Rs 100 crore greenshoe, spread over 16 to 18 companies, which implies small initial checks. Tracxn reports an average round size of about $2.07M across its seed deals, which is the round, not Kriscore's cheque.
Lead Tendency
Unclear. Known deals show Kriscore alongside other investors (Nexus Venture Partners and peercheque in The Medical Travel Company, InCred Capital in RoamPrime, Wavemaker Partners in Confluxe, Eximius Ventures in Myca). Nilesh Balakrishnan holds a board seat at RoamPrime. Lead tendency is recorded as unknown.
Recent Activity
Kriscore Capital I is a SEBI Category II AIF (IN/AIF2/24-25/1605). It announced a first close of Rs 50 crore in May 2025 from family offices and high-net-worth individuals, with a first investment in a stealth startup. Tracxn lists one investment in 2025 and three in 2026 as of October 2026: Confluxe (Feb 2026), RoamPrime (Mar 2026) and Myca (Oct 2026). The fund is actively deploying.
