Kvanted Ventures Research
Investment Thesis
Kvanted is a Helsinki-based early-stage venture firm that describes itself as the first pure-play industrial technology investor in the Nordics. Its thesis is that the most valuable technology companies of the last decade were built in bits, and that as barriers around general software fall, durable advantage is moving into the physical world, into systems that cannot be copied at near-zero cost. It points to AI, robotics, sensing, quantum technologies and advanced compute as the enablers that let intelligence into manufacturing, energy, logistics and infrastructure. The firm argues that bringing such systems into production is slow and complex, and that this calls for investors who understand industrial value chains and operations.
Stage Focus
Kvanted invests at pre-seed and seed. Its portfolio page shows pre-seed entries (mkind, Unbound Potential) and a seed entry (Vexlum), and press coverage shows seed rounds in RESONIKS and Euler. It also backed SAM-P, listed as an exited company that the page tags Series A, so it will occasionally appear in later rounds or follow-ons.
Check Size
The first fund was announced in November 2023 at 70 million euros and is expected to back around 20 companies. Press coverage of the launch described initial investments of up to roughly 1 million euros, but that figure is not confirmed on the firm's own site, so confidence is low. The firm's compliance page lists fund size as 71.3 million euros.
Lead Tendency
Both patterns appear. Kvanted led RESONIKS' 2.65 million euro seed in 2024 and co-led Euler's 2 million euro seed with Frumtak in 2025. It invested in Vexlum alongside Tesi and the EIC Fund and in Unbound Potential alongside Founderful and Zurcher Kantonalbank. It is best read as a lead or co-lead that also joins syndicates.
Recent Activity
- June 2026: mkind (Germany), AI-powered robotic cells for high-mix manufacturing, pre-seed
- May 2026: returned as co-lead in a RESONIKS seed round led by SHIFT Invest
- February 2026: Vexlum (Finland), high-power semiconductor lasers, seed
- November 2025: co-led Euler (Iceland) 2 million euro seed
- September/October 2025: Unbound Potential (Switzerland), membrane-free flow batteries, its first Swiss investment
The fund appears to be actively deploying. A new Investment Manager, Patrik Fjallberg, joined on 31 August 2026.
Portfolio Highlights
The site names mkind, Vexlum, Unbound Potential and the exited SAM-P (AI 3D digital twins of industrial sites, France). The homepage also references Makiina (embodied AI robots, Finland, pre-seed 2025) and QMill (quantum software for industry, Finland, seed 2024). Press adds RESONIKS, Euler and Fractory. Several portfolio slots show as stealth.
