Investment Thesis
Pact is a London-headquartered, early-stage venture capital fund founded in 2021 by three women — Reem Wyndham, Tong Gu and Monik Pham. The firm backs "generational founders" building technology with global ambition, organizing its thesis around three core themes: Access (expanding access to financial and healthcare products, infrastructure and SME tools in underserved markets), Betterment (unlocking the future of skills, work and digital security), and Climate (the transition to a more sustainable economy across energy, supply chains and resource use). Pact positions itself as "more than capital" — a team of former operators who have built, scaled and exited businesses, and who stay closely engaged with portfolio companies rather than acting as passive observers.
Stage Focus
Pact invests almost exclusively at pre-seed and seed. Public sources (LinkedIn company page, OpenVC) confirm the fund is a dedicated pre-seed/seed vehicle, and its own content ("Pact Tiny Desk" workshops framed around "scaling from pre-seed/seed to Series A") reinforces that Series A is the point at which portfolio companies graduate beyond Pact's typical entry stage.
Check Size
Typical initial check size is reported at $750K–$1.5M (OpenVC), consistent with a dedicated first fund of £30M (~$36M, closed November 2022) built for concentrated early-stage bets. Individual partners have been cited with broader personal angel ranges, but the fund-level check size centers on that $750K–$1.5M band.
Lead Tendency
Mixed. Pact has explicitly led rounds (an oversubscribed pre-seed alongside Seedcamp and Calm/Storm, announced May 2026) but also participates alongside other leads, e.g. Fly Ventures' lead on Zendo's pre-seed and True Ventures on Team-GPT's seed. Best characterized as "both."
Recent Activity
Fund is actively deploying. Confirmed recent investments include Team-GPT (AI workplace collaboration, seed, alongside True Ventures, announced November 2024), UnitPlus (SME treasury/capital markets platform, seed, announced October 2024), and Zendo (Energy OS for data centres, pre-seed alongside Fly Ventures and Octopus Ventures, announced May 2025). Portfolio companies have generated a steady stream of milestones through 2026, including Artifact Lens's Red Teaming for AI Agents launch (August 2026), Musa crossing 1 billion TikTok views (August 2026), Zendo's Manchester data-centre renewable power partnership with Deep Green (May 2026), Liferaft's 10-year, 1-million-unit carbon-removal offtake with Microsoft (March 2026, described as the largest US biochar deal to date), and Sidekick's £7.8M Series A to scale its digital wealth platform (February 2026).
Portfolio Highlights
Fifteen named companies appear on Pact's public portfolio page: Artifact Lens (red-teaming for enterprise AI), Devanthro (humanoid robots for elderly care — a Devanthro robot became the first humanoid robot to care for a person with dementia at home, January 2026), Resolyst (AI infrastructure for specialty care), Liferaft (bio-waste to biochar and energy, with a landmark Microsoft carbon-removal deal), Atlas (infrastructure for collaborative spatial data), Mini Studio (AI-native personalized animation studio, featured in Variety), Symbe (intelligent business case platform, closed a £3.8M seed and surpassed $1M ARR in April 2026), KareHero (fintech for family caregiving, rolled out to ~5,000 TSB staff), Sidekick (modern private bank), Musa (self-care for women's health), Zendo (Energy OS for datacentres), Surein (insurance operating system for SMEs, publicly launched its AI brokerage software "Modus" in May 2026), UnitPlus (SME treasury and high-yield savings), Juma (AI workspace for marketing teams), and Ainia (emotional intelligence through AI storytelling).

Decision Process
Pact operates as a founder-led partnership among its three co-founders rather than a solo-GP or large investment-committee structure, consistent with its small team size and hands-on, high-touch involvement model.
Founder Preferences
Pact seeks founders who think independently, take ownership, and have a clear point of view on their space. Its own language emphasizes founders who are "mission driven with a clear sense of purpose," able to "lead and inspire exceptional teams," maintain "relentless focus," demonstrate "deep understanding of the problem," stay "open to challenge and feedback," and "iterate quickly." Pact explicitly wants founders comfortable working through complexity who welcome a partner willing to engage directly rather than remain hands-off.
Geographic Focus
Explicitly "transatlantic by design" — UK and Europe (especially London, Berlin) paired with an active US presence anchored by Tong Gu, plus emerging activity in the Nordics (UK x Nordic ecosystem event, May 2026) and reach into MENA through founder support networks (e.g. Team-GPT's Saudi expansion).
Notable Context
Pact was widely covered at launch as the UK's first all-female-founded venture fund, backed in part by Anne Hathaway, when it closed the first tranche of its £30M debut fund in November 2022 (Business Insider, TechFundingNews, CityAM). Assets under management are estimated at ~$39.5M (Dealroom).
