Tech Horizons Research
Overview
Tech Horizons (also styled Presto Tech Horizons) is a Luxembourg-registered venture fund (Tech Horizons SCSp, managed by Tech Horizons GP S.a r.l., a sub-threshold AIF) with its operating team in Prague. It was launched in June 2024 by Presto Ventures together with the Czechoslovak Group (CSG), a Czech defense and industrial group. The fund targets EUR 150M and markets itself as Europe's first VC and defense-prime alliance. It sells only to professional investors (minimum EUR 125,000).
Investment Thesis
The fund backs dual-use and deeptech companies that improve the safety and resilience of people, businesses, institutions and states. Its pitch is that CSG's 30-plus years of industrial experience, defense-sector connections, market access and manufacturing capacity remove the entry barriers that keep other VCs out of defense tech. CSG is the anchor investor and key partner, while the fund keeps its own governance. It also cites partnerships with 400+ later-stage VCs for follow-on funding.
Sector Focus
- Defense and security, with a focus on dual-use products
- AI and ML, cybersecurity, automation and robotics
- Sensors, radars, ground and aerial drones, lasers
- Aerospace and space logistics
- Advanced computing and quantum
- Energy and power, new materials, mobility and logistics
- Biotech and medtech (Sensible Biotechnologies is in the portfolio)

Both software and hardware-enabled products are in scope.
Stage Focus
The fund targets post-product, post-revenue startups at Seed and Series A. The site's own SFDR notice also mentions pre-seed. The stated plan is 30 to 50 investments over three years.
Check Size
The site states tickets of EUR 1M to EUR 5M. A third-party listing gives EUR 300K to EUR 3M, so the range is not settled. The payload uses the site figures.
Lead Tendency
Mixed. The fund led Occam Industries' EUR 3M raise (February 2026) and was the sole European backer in Firehawk Aerospace's USD 60M round (September 2025). In SatVu, ATMOS and other rounds it joined alongside other investors such as the NATO Innovation Fund.

- May 2026: invested in North Vector Dynamics (Canadian counter-UAS and air defence)
- April 2026: ATMOS Space Cargo raised a EUR 25.7M Series A
- February 2026: SatVu round backed by the NATO Innovation Fund, with Tech Horizons joining

Decision Process and Founder Preferences
Governance is separate from CSG, but CSG industrial experts help select and support investments. The site does not describe a decision timeline or whether a warm intro is required. Founders can email [email protected]. The fund favors revenue-generating teams building technology with civilian and defense applications.
Geographic Focus
NATO countries and allied nations. The portfolio spans the US, UK, Germany, Canada, Slovakia and Ukraine-linked teams.
