Triwise Capital Research
Investment Thesis
Triwise Capital (勤智资本, Shenzhen Qianhai Triwise International Capital Management Co., Ltd., registered fund manager P1030072) was founded in October 2015 by Dr. Tang Dajie, formerly of Shenzhen Capital Group, Shenzhen High-Tech Investment Group, and E Fund. The firm describes its philosophy as investment returning to the real economy, with capital serving industry. It focuses on healthcare and life sciences: innovative drugs, cell and gene therapy, synthetic biology, bio-breeding, and high-end medical devices. It takes a company-building posture, pairing capital with industrial and technology platforms such as the National Innovation Center for Advanced Medical Devices, the Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology (CAS), and the Jiyin biomedical translation institute. Its stated split is 30 percent investment and 70 percent service.
Stage Focus
The firm says it invests early and small, and wants the first check in two or three of every ten projects. It sources from research institutes, returning overseas scientists, and spillover talent from large industrial platforms. It also follows on across rounds: it backed Akeso (09926.HK) at Series B, C and D after the founder led the A, and it joined Qyuns at B, B++ and C. Stage focus is roughly pre-seed through Series B or C, with early-stage as the core.
Check Size
Check size is not disclosed. Its chairman said it made 18 investments in 2024 and 14 in 2025, which points to small to mid-size checks spread across many companies. No dollar range is published.
Lead Tendency
Press reports describe the firm leading rounds in several portfolio companies (Triastek B+ in 2021, Handpet, Mitoch Pre-A), and co-investing in others (Betterway B round alongside Tasly Capital). Lead tendency is both.
