De-icing keeps winter aviation safe, and the runoff carries glycol into airport stormwater. Between Transport Canada requirements, federal effluent regulations and provincial permits, airports are accountable for what reaches the receiving water, but the standard method is still a person driving to an outfall with a bottle.
