Lucintech is developing low-cost thin-film deposition of a transparent CdTe photovoltaic stack on glass and transparent plastic. Once mature, the intent is to sell technology packages to automotive and architectural glass producers. The beach-head market is expected to be automotive, where (for example) power-at-rest availability can operate ventilation, decreasing AC requirements and increasing passenger comfort.
