Mito Innovations is a preclinical stage biotechnology company developing MARY1, a small molecule that re-engages the kidney's own mitochondrial repair program after injury. Acute kidney injury has no approved medicine -- only supportive care. MARY1 is a selective 5HTR2B antagonist designed to restore mitochondrial function in the kidney's proximal tubule, both preventing injury and accelerating recovery once it occurs. Our lead clinical wedge is cardiac surgery associated acute kidney injury (CSA-AKI): a predictable, time anchored injury setting that lets us test exposure, target engagement, and recovery cleanly before earning expansion into kidney transplant delayed graft function, AKI to CKD prevention, and a broader mitochondrial repair platform. We're a founders-led team built on four decades of pharmacology and mitochondrial biology research and a disciplined, data gated path from bench to clinic. We're currently raising a Seed/Series A round to fund IND enabling work and an interim proof of concept in CSA-AKI. If kidney recovery is a problem you think about too -- as an investor, partner, clinician, or researcher -- we'd welcome the conversation.
