Black Opal Ventures (BOV) is a New York-based venture capital firm founded in 2021 by Dr. Tara Bishop, MD MPH (physician, former Chief Clinical Officer at Bind, ex-McKinsey and Weill Cornell) and Eileen Tanghal, MBA (20+ year VC veteran of Amadeus Capital Partners, Applied Ventures, and In-Q-Tel, formerly a senior leader at Arm). BOV invests at the intersection of frontier technology and healthcare, betting that breakthroughs in AI, bioengineering, and compute unlock solutions to the world's toughest problems, particularly in healthcare, life sciences, infrastructure, and security.
