Investment Thesis
Black Opal Ventures (BOV) is a New York-based venture capital firm founded in 2021 by Dr. Tara Bishop, MD MPH (physician, former Chief Clinical Officer at Bind, ex-McKinsey and Weill Cornell) and Eileen Tanghal, MBA (20+ year VC veteran of Amadeus Capital Partners, Applied Ventures, and In-Q-Tel, formerly a senior leader at Arm). The two met as MIT roommates and reconnected decades later to launch the firm.
