Cubit Capital Research
Investment Thesis
Cubit Capital is an early-stage venture firm based in Dallas, Texas, built on the conviction that the entrepreneur is one of the primary catalysts for a flourishing society. The firm describes its work as partnering with leaders called to confront foundational problems with humility and confidence. Its Christian faith is stated openly as the root of how it makes investment decisions, operates as a team and supports founders. The name comes from the cubit, an ancient unit of measure that gave builders a dependable standard, and the firm says it aims to play that grounding role for founders.
The firm organizes its work around two areas. The first is Enduring Infrastructure: built environment, aerospace and defense, critical materials and supply chain, energy resilience and government process. The second is Platforms for Human Flourishing: community building platforms, physical and spiritual restoration, education and workforce development, service to those in need and redemptive culture (faith-based media and content).
Selection Criteria
The Philosophy page lists four filters for opportunities:
- Leadership: courageous leaders who are personally proximate to the problem and lead with both humility and confidence.
- Problem scale: an overarching societal problem that affects a large group of people.
- Innovation level: moderate-to-high technological innovation that, if successful, would change the nature of the problem.
- Stage: Pre-Seed, Seed and Series A.
Stage Focus and Check Size
Cubit states a Pre-Seed, Seed and Series A focus. It does not publish check sizes, so none are recorded here. The portfolio shows frequent follow-on participation: it joined Kibu's SAFE, co-led Lucid Bots' Series B alongside Idea Fund, took part in Reframe Systems' Series B and supported Sage Geosystems' $97M Series B.
Lead Tendency
Mixed. The Q1 2026 update describes Cubit co-leading Lucid Bots' Series B and participating in others. Its Lux Aeterna seed was alongside Konvoy, Decisive Point and Wave Function. Third-party directories say it frequently leads early rounds, but the firm's own material shows both lead and follow roles.
Recent Activity
- Lux Aeterna (seed, around March 2026): reusable satellite platforms led by former SpaceX Starlink engineering leaders.
- Lucid Bots (Series B, co-led with Idea Fund): Sherpa cleaning drone and Lavo Bot pressure washer.
- Reframe Systems (Series B participation): AI-driven microfactories producing net-zero homes.
- Sage Geosystems ($97M Series B, January 2026): next-generation geothermal power.
- Kibu (SAFE): identity verification against AI impersonation and deepfakes.
- The Q1 2026 newsletter teased an upcoming announcement with a grid technology company.
Matter Intelligence, Resolute Grid and Tektones appear on the portfolio page with newer images, suggesting they are recent additions.
