Equirus InnovateX Fund Research
Overview
Equirus InnovateX Fund (EIF) is the early-stage venture arm of Equirus Group, an Indian investment bank and wealth manager based in Mumbai. EIF is a SEBI-registered Category I alternative investment fund (registration IN/AIF1/23-24/1398), the first scheme of Equirus Alternative Fund Trust, with Equirus Wealth Private Limited as investment manager and Axis Trustee Services as trustee. Its tagline is "For Founders. By Founders." The fund held a first close in February 2024 and announced its final close at Rs 166 crore (about $18.3 million) in February 2026. At launch it was described as a roughly $25 million fund.
Investment Thesis
EIF backs seed and pre-Series A companies that are post-product and working toward product-market fit. It looks for founders solving structurally complex problems with clear distribution and defensibility, and describes its focus as B2B technology. The partners position themselves as ex-operators and angel investors who know the inflection points founders face around product-market fit, enterprise access and organisational build-out. Beyond capital, the fund offers help with enterprise access, regulatory navigation, senior hiring and capital-raising preparedness, plus access to Equirus Group for growth-stage fundraising, M&A, IPO and founder wealth management.
Sector Focus
The site lists three themes.
- Deep tech: quantum computing, synthetic biology, robotics and automation, advanced materials, climate tech, precision agriculture, defence tech, drone tech, space tech.
- Software and SaaS: edge computing, cybersecurity, AR/VR, agri tech, generative AI, construction tech, supply chain tech, developer tools.
- Fintech: payments, lending, insurtech, wealthtech, account aggregation, cross-border banking, neobanking, financial inclusion.
Stage Focus and Check Size
Seed and pre-Series A. Launch coverage in January 2024 put the check at $500,000 to $1 million per deal. The fund targets a portfolio of up to 15 companies, so check size is inferred from the reported fund size and portfolio count rather than stated on the firm's own site.
Lead Tendency
Not stated. The site and press describe hands-on mentorship but do not say whether the fund leads rounds. Marked unknown.
Recent Activity
As of the February 2026 final close, EIF had deployed more than one-third of its corpus across seven startups and expected to deploy the rest over 12 to 18 months. Named investments are Pointo, Datazip, GreenStitch, CtrlB, Consuma AI, RSPL and NeverInstall. The site's fund portfolio shows eight logos, including Workroom and Consuma. After the close the fund plans to scale existing holdings, add selectively and prepare for a next fund. The fund is still deploying.
Portfolio Highlights
The fund is young, so there are no reported exits. Third-party trackers also list Raana Semiconductors, Nova Spectral AI and Workroom, but only the companies named in the fund's close announcement and on its portfolio section are included here. Separately, the partners have personal angel investments, shown on the site as "Past Angel Portfolio of Team": Druva, Kwench, AdPushup, Sirona, Wow! Momo, Credgenics, GoComet, Mobstac, Sharekhan, Republic, Sapient, Upekkha, PointOne, Channelwork, inFeedo, Convin and KLIB. These are not fund investments and are not in the portfolio list.
