GreenSky Ventures Research
Investment Thesis
GreenSky Ventures is a Toronto venture firm that invests in early stage Canadian B2B start-ups led by extraordinary entrepreneurs. Its tagline is "Only the brightest": the firm says it finds the best early stage ventures, applies extraordinary diligence and writes bigger cheques to fund them. It has been actively deploying capital since 2015 through a series of accelerator funds (Fund I through Fund VI, with Fund 7 now open to accredited investors).
Sector Focus
The portfolio is B2B and deep-tech heavy and spans several areas:
- Enterprise and AI software: AiDant (AI on security cameras), Wisedocs (AI medical document processing), Botni (searchable video), SYMX.AI (predictive maintenance), Bot Food (personal context libraries for AI), Funnelytics, Paidiem, Trolley (one-to-many payments)
- Industrial IoT and sensors: Brickeye, Assetflo, Pulse Industrial, Weever, Edgecom, Direct-C, BioAlert, LabsCubed
- Materials and life sciences: Mesosil (antimicrobial dental additives, first FDA 510(k) clearance in February 2026), Mirexus, Cyclica, Phenotips, Nanovista
- Space software: Mission Control Space Services
- Climate: Anessa (biogas software), Pyrowave
Stage Focus
Early stage: seed and follow-on rounds. It led Assetflo's $2M USD seed (December 2025), co-led GridBank's $6M seed (April 2026) and led Brickeye's $10M Series B from Fund VI (January 2026), so it follows winners into later rounds.
Check Size
Not published on the site. Observed rounds suggest initial checks in the low-single-digit millions at seed, with larger follow-ons. Treat as unknown beyond that.
Lead Tendency
Both. It led Assetflo and Brickeye and co-led GridBank alongside StandUp Ventures and Version One Ventures.
