IvyCap Ventures Research
Investment Thesis
IvyCap Ventures is India's leading homegrown venture capital firm, founded in 2011 by Vikram Gupta and headquartered in Mumbai (Powai) with offices in Delhi, Bengaluru, the US, and Singapore. The firm was born from a vision to support the next generation of entrepreneurs from India's premier educational institutions -- primarily IIT and IIM alumni -- and leverages this global alumni ecosystem as both a deal source and a value-add network for portfolio companies.
The fund is sector-agnostic but conviction-driven, focused on technology-enabled businesses built by exceptional founding teams. IvyCap believes that founders with strong academic pedigree and credible professional experience are the most reliable predictor of startup success. The firm backs highly scalable, innovative, technology-based products and services with strong unit economics and the potential to lead competitive markets. Notably, IvyCap is India's first homegrown VC fund to create a dragon company, and the only Indian VC that contributes a significant portion of fund manager profits back to IITs and IIMs through endowment funds.
