Jeriko Research
Investment Thesis
Jeriko is a French deal-by-deal venture fund dedicated exclusively to the agrifoodtech value chain. Co-founded in 2022 by Olivier Tilloy (also co-founder of the investment platform Techmind) and Emmanuel Leconte, a former farmer turned entrepreneur, the fund frames its mission around a manifesto: the global food system is responsible for roughly a third of greenhouse gas emissions, a third of food produced is wasted while 800 million people remain undernourished, and agriculture must adapt to climate change while meeting more demanding consumer expectations around health and sustainability. Jeriko backs ambitious founders in foodtech and agritech who are rebuilding the food system end-to-end, from producer to consumer, and who can deploy intelligent solutions at scale with high environmental and social impact. The fund is operated day-to-day by the Techmind team, which manages sourcing, deal execution, and community engagement on Jeriko's behalf.
Stage Focus
Jeriko invests from Pre-Seed through Series A, explicitly stating it backs the entire agrifood value chain (agritech and foodtech) at these early stages rather than specializing in one sub-vertical.
Check Size
The fund's own site states ticket sizes of €200K to €1M per deal.
Lead Tendency
Jeriko explicitly states it can act as lead, co-lead, or follower depending on the target and the round's structure ("Nous pouvons intervenir en lead, co-lead ou follower, en fonction du sujet et de la structuration du tour de table"). This is a flexible, syndicate-style deal-by-deal model rather than a fund that always leads.
Recent Activity
Jeriko has been active through 2025 and into 2026:
- September 2026: Took part in the ~$5M ($4.3M) pre-seed round for Tellia, a Paris/San Francisco voice-AI assistant for farmers, led by Berlin-based Revent.
- July 2025: Joined Demeter, Suntory Global Spirits, and AZ Venture Capital in ALTR's €5M seed round to scale its wine-dealcoholization technology.
- Portfolio company NeoEarth (microalgae strains) closed a >€1M seed round in September 2025 to build out a new lab and scale production.
The fund appears to be actively deploying, with a steady cadence of new investments and portfolio-company follow-on rounds through the last year.
Portfolio Highlights
Jeriko's public portfolio spans the full agrifood chain: Collectiv Food (B2B restaurant supply logistics), KUMO (Japanese-inspired snacking), Petty Well (personalized pet nutrition), Hyperplan (crop-monitoring platform for farmers/agribusiness), Seederal (fully electric tractors), Alvie (HYGO, a digital assistant to help farmers cut pesticide use), Nudj (jackfruit-based plant proteins), Carbonfarm (satellite/AI monitoring of regenerative rice farming to cut methane emissions), Edenly (vertical farming network in Africa), Tellia (voice AI for farmers), Foodflow (all-in-one ordering/delivery platform for restaurant supply), Hubcycle (upcycling food-industry waste into new ingredients), Fayo (plant-based bases for collective catering), ALTR (wine dealcoholization technology), and Neo Earth (advanced microalgae strains). The firm's site separately lists SpaceSense (satellite/AI tools for crop and carbon tracking) and Nutropy (precision-fermentation dairy alternatives) under "Exits."
Team
- Olivier Tilloy, Co-Founder — Investor and co-founder of Techmind, the platform that operates Jeriko's day-to-day investment processes and community. Based in Paris.
- Emmanuel Leconte, Co-Founder — A former farmer turned entrepreneur, bringing operator-level agricultural domain expertise to sourcing and diligence.
Beyond the two co-founders, Jeriko draws on entrepreneurs, sector experts, and investors from the Techmind network and community for diligence and support.
Decision Process
Investment processes are run through Techmind's team on Jeriko's behalf, suggesting a small-partnership structure with support functions (sourcing, execution, portfolio support) centralized at Techmind rather than a solo-GP model.
Founder Preferences
Jeriko looks for ambitious foodtech and agritech founders tackling crucial problems across the food industry with high-impact, scalable projects — spanning hard-tech (electric tractors, microalgae strains, precision fermentation) to software/AI (voice assistants, crop-monitoring platforms) and consumer brands (snacking, plant proteins, pet food).
Geographic Focus
Primarily France and Europe, with selective participation further afield when the deal fits the thesis — e.g., ALTR (US-based wine tech) and Tellia (US/France dual-based agtech).
How They Support Portfolio Companies
Post-investment, Jeriko states it supports entrepreneurs with the expertise of its partners and access to the broader Jeriko network of investors, sector experts, and industry players along the food value chain.
Community & Capital Sources
Jeriko runs an investor "club" for private investors (family offices, business angels) seeking curated, vetted agrifoodtech deal flow, and a separate corporate-partner offering for companies wanting market intelligence, network access, and targeted co-investment opportunities — consistent with its deal-by-deal (rather than traditional committed-fund) structure.
