Norrsken VC Research
Investment Thesis
Norrsken VC is a Stockholm-based early-stage investor that backs founders working on what it calls the world's hardest problems. Its thesis is that the biggest returns come from solving the greatest challenges, and that the next generation of trillion-euro companies will be built across energy, industry and healthcare. The firm argues that technology has flipped the economics of progress: clean energy can now undercut fossil fuels on price, healthcare can reach further with fewer hands, and industry can do more with less. It describes itself as Europe's leading early-stage investor in tech that matters. The firm was born from the Norrsken ecosystem, a non-profit platform of founders, investors, operators and experts started by Klarna co-founder Niklas Adalberth.
Sector Focus
The portfolio is organised under a handful of themes used on the firm's site:
- Energy tech: grid balancing, battery storage, solar, wind, fusion (Renaissance Fusion, General Fusion), industrial energy optimisation (trawa, Verse, terralayr, SpotmyEnergy)
- Next gen industry: cement and materials decarbonisation (alcemy, Material Evolution), textiles (Syre), buildings (Endra, Predium), space (Karman+), earth intelligence (Terra Labs)
- Healthtech: digital care and diagnostics (Oviva, Vocca, Sava, Ochre Bio, Aerska, Biorce, Quadrivia)
- Deep and frontier tech: sovereign cloud (evroc), data-centre cooling (Submer), AI (Callosum, Onepot)

- Earlier-era themes: food waste, education, supply chain efficiency, responsible consumption
In June 2025 the firm pledged to invest 300 million euros in AI that matters, signalling growing weight on applied AI for industry and health.
Stage Focus
Early-stage and growth. The portfolio shows mostly seed and Series A entries, with later participation in Series B to D rounds (Verse Series B, Oviva Series D, General Fusion Series D, Einride and 1KOMMA5° Series C). Recent 2026 entries include Callosum (seed), Terra Labs (seed), Onepot (seed), Vocca (Series A) and Verse (Series B).
Check Size
The site states early-stage and growth tickets of 1 to 10 million euros. Reserves for follow-ons are evident from repeated participation in later rounds.
Lead Tendency
Not stated on the site. Several announcements are "why we've invested" posts rather than lead-round claims, so lead tendency is recorded as unknown.
Recent Activity
Fund II closed in May 2024 at 320 million euros, oversubscribed. The firm reports over 500 million euros AUM and more than 60 portfolio companies. Recent investments: Vocca (October 2026), Callosum (August 2026), Verse (June 2026), Terra Labs (June 2026), Onepot (February 2026), Oviva (January 2026), Endra's 20 million dollar seed (December 2025), Ankar (December 2025) and Aerska (October 2025).
