Nova Global Research
Note on identity: the website on file, nova.global, belongs to an unrelated parcel and logistics carrier (country picker, tracking, customer care). The venture firm called Nova Global is at nova.nexus, with the X handle @novaholdings and the site founderprofiles.ai. This profile covers the venture firm.
Investment Thesis
Nova describes itself as "a global talent investing firm on a mission to patron future world-historic individuals." The thesis is about people before sectors. The firm studies the origins of outlier talent, investigates the ingredients of greatness, scouts the world for emerging elites, and serves as agents dedicated to their success. Its own language is "out-of-distribution" founders: unusual, young, high-conviction builders whose formative years look different from the standard founder template. The firm published Founder Profiles (founderprofiles.ai), an open library of founder biographies focused on the birth-to-founding chapter of historically notable founders, from Silicon Valley's beginnings to today. That project works as both research and brand: it is how Nova signals what kind of founder it wants to back.
Nova's stated reasoning on markets and AI is visible in a Forbes quote about Vigil Labs: every generational technology company has a core cash engine that fuels compounding innovation, and a new generation of missionary hedge funds is emerging as dominant tech players. This suggests an appetite for AI-native companies with a strong founder story and a plausible path to compounding economics.
Stage Focus
Public evidence shows pre-seed and seed first checks, with follow-on participation at Series A. Nova led Vigil Labs' seed in August 2025, co-led (with Valor Equity Partners) Midas's $10M Series A in February 2026, and participated in Judgment Labs' seed and again in its $32M combined seed and Series A announced in May 2026, which Lightspeed led.
Check Size
Not disclosed. Round sizes for the companies it backs range from $5.7M (Vigil seed) to $10M (Midas Series A), but Nova's own check sizes are unknown, so no check size range is submitted.
Lead Tendency
Mixed. It led the Vigil Labs seed, was named as a co-lead on Midas, and followed Lightspeed in Judgment Labs. Lead tendency is recorded as "both".
Recent Activity
- May 2026: participated in Judgment Labs' $32M seed and Series A (Lightspeed led; SV Angel, Valor Equity Partners and others also in).
- February 2026: co-led Midas's $10M Series A with Valor Equity Partners (mathematical verification infrastructure for AI security).
- August 2025: led Vigil Labs' $5.7M seed (AI-assisted trading systems; Lux Capital, Pantera Capital, SV Angel, Soma Capital, Valor Equity Partners and angels joined).
- June 2026 (approx.): launched Founder Profiles, its biography library. The firm looks active, with roughly one new investment every few months. It has no public fund announcement.
Portfolio Highlights
Three companies are publicly linked: Judgment Labs (agent behavior monitoring and improvement for production AI agents), Midas (mathematical trust infrastructure for AI systems), and Vigil Labs (reasoning systems for traders). Tracxn lists co-investor overlap with Valor Equity Partners across three companies. No exits are public.
Team
Koko Xs is identified as Cofounder at Nova in the Forbes piece on Vigil Labs and appears to run the firm's public presence (@kokoxs). No other partners are named on nova.nexus, which is a single-page site with a contact address ([email protected]) and a "San Francisco Market Center" tag. Third-party database listings that name Hong Kong vice presidents and a long list of generic portfolio names appear to be mismatched entries and are not used.
Decision Process
Unknown. The firm looks small and founder-led, so decisions are likely made by the cofounders directly. No public process or timeline exists.
Founder Preferences
Young, intense, technically capable founders with an outsized personal story: Vigil's Kole Lee dropped out of Stanford, and Judgment Labs was started by childhood friends. Nova's own words stress "out-of-distribution" individuals and the formative events that shaped them.
Geographic Focus
San Francisco and the Bay Area. All three known investments are US-based (San Francisco and Palo Alto). The "global" in the name is not matched by any known non-US investment.
Gaps
No fund size, AUM, check size, or additional team members were found. The website is minimal. Confidence on thesis is moderate; on check size and decision process it is low.
