RM Global BioAccess Fund Research
Investment Thesis
The RM Global BioAccess Fund (also written Global BioAccess Fund, formerly RMG-KB BioAccess Fund) is a venture fund that backs companies developing novel therapeutics and devices for serious unmet medical needs. Its tagline is "accelerating novel science to create new medicines." The stated focus areas are oncology, immunology and inflammation (I&I), cardiovascular, CNS and rare disease. The fund describes its purpose as funding early-stage companies that need capital to support IND submission and clinical trials, so it sits between pure discovery-stage seed money and large crossover rounds.
Stage Focus
Per the firm's entrepreneur FAQ, the fund most often invests from Series A to Series C, and can participate as late as crossover financings. The portfolio fits that pattern: Alveus Therapeutics closed a $197M Series A, Odyssey Therapeutics raised a $213M Series D and then went public, Nuvig raised a $161M Series B, and Altay closed a $37M Series A.
Check Size
The firm says it can invest up to $10M across the lifespan of a company, and that with its limited partners it can invest additional funds in later-stage rounds. The fund's first closing was $60M in 2021, so individual checks are modest relative to the round sizes above, which points to participation alongside larger syndicates.
Lead Tendency
The firm says it can lead, co-lead or actively participate in rounds. Given the fund size and the size of the rounds in its portfolio, it most often looks like a participant or co-investor, so lead tendency is recorded as both.

Founder Preferences
The firm emphasizes scientific depth. It offers an advisor network of leading scientists and clinicians, regulatory experts and pharma veterans to help portfolio companies reach the clinic. The team is MD and PhD heavy, which suggests it favors scientifically credible founders with a clear path to IND or clinical data.
Geographic Focus
Primarily the United States, with openness to companies from other countries. Search results describe the fund as focused on North America and the EU. Portfolio companies are in Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Minneapolis and Copenhagen. The firm is headquartered in New York, NY.
Gaps
Fund size beyond the 2021 first close of $60M, remaining dry powder, and the partners' email addresses are not public. The fund was reported as closed to new LPs, though it continues to announce new portfolio investments (Altay, October 2026).
