AVP (Atlantic Vantage Point) Research
Overview
AVP, formerly known as AXA Venture Partners, is an independent global investment platform dedicated to high-growth technology companies across Europe and North America. Founded in 2016 as the corporate venture arm of AXA Group, the firm completed a management buyout in April 2025, acquiring AXA's 70% stake and rebranding as Atlantic Vantage Point (AVP). The firm now manages more than €2.5 billion (~$2.75B USD) in assets across four investment strategies and maintains offices in New York, London, and Paris.
Investment Thesis
AVP takes a transatlantic approach to tech investing, backing capital-efficient, high-growth technology companies across stages from venture to late growth. The firm's thesis centers on the belief that the best technology companies will emerge from or expand across both Europe and North America, and that having local teams in both markets is a decisive advantage. From day one, AVP has deployed a multi-stage, multi-strategy model to support founders at every phase of their growth journey — from early product to pre-IPO.
AVP looks for companies with:
- Capital-efficient unit economics and clear paths to profitability
- Products addressing large, global addressable markets
- Strong founder-market fit and technical differentiation
- International expansion potential (US ↔ Europe)
