Investment Thesis

Breed VC is an early-stage crypto fund built on the conviction of "decentralization as autonomy." The firm backs technical founders building decentralized, user-owned systems that return sovereignty, ownership and economic agency to users. It treats crypto as the native architecture of an open internet rather than a speculative asset class. The thesis spans three areas: open, borderless financial rails (stablecoins, RWA, onchain credit); decentralized AI (open-source models, verifiable inference, decentralized compute, data provenance, onchain agents); and digital markets where upside accrues to participants and builders.

Decentralized AI Focus

Breed published a long investment thesis on decentralized AI that maps the space into six categories: decentralized compute and inference, AI data and model provenance, token-incentivized AI applications, onchain AI agents and security, AI-driven blockchain marketplaces, and model verification. More recent essays cover the rise of Nous Research's Hermes agent framework, the agentic economy (agents as economic actors needing blockchain and stablecoin rails), MEV, and the "$Strategy" proliferation of corporate Bitcoin treasuries.
