Legend Capital Research
Investment Thesis
Legend Capital (君联资本) is one of China's oldest and largest venture capital and private equity firms. It was founded in April 2001 as the investment arm of Legend Holdings, the Lenovo parent, and is headquartered in Beijing. The firm describes itself as a leading VC and PE investor in early-stage and growth-stage opportunities in China. Its stated strategy is "early, new, hard, big, difficult, long" (早新硬、大难长): early-stage technology, new industries, hard technology, large markets, difficult problems and long time horizons. Its methodology is "Business First, People Crucial" plus proactive value-added services to portfolio companies. Core value: "Pursuing Fortune of Value". President Li Jiaqing writes that investors must shift from "hunters" to "farmers" who cultivate the technology-innovation ecosystem, and that China's equity market is undergoing a paradigm shift toward RMB funds, state capital and "new quality productivity".
Sector Focus
Legend Capital organizes its portfolio into Technology, Consumption and Healthcare, with a logistics and supply chain list on its English site. The official Chinese site stresses hard tech, AI, quantum computing, biomedicine, semiconductors, intelligent manufacturing, new energy and enterprise services.

Early-stage venture and growth-stage private equity. The firm runs both US dollar and RMB funds, including dedicated healthcare funds (a USD 250M third healthcare fund) and a Social Security Fund Zhongguancun special innovation fund. Specific check sizes are not published on the website.
Check Size
Not disclosed. Given more than USD 10 billion of commitments across about 700 portfolio companies, checks range from early-stage rounds in the low millions to large growth-stage commitments. This is inferred, not stated by the firm.
Lead Tendency
Third-party reports describe Legend leading rounds (for example a nearly CNY 200 million Series C), and it also co-invests heavily at growth stage. Lead tendency is therefore recorded as both.
