Robert Bosch Venture Capital (Bosch Ventures) Research
Investment Thesis
Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH (RBVC, branded Bosch Ventures) is the corporate venture arm of the Bosch Group. Its stated thesis is to invest in entrepreneurs "with the vision to shape the future of human living space, whether at home, at work or on the road." It is a deep-tech investor that works with companies worldwide and offers startups access to Bosch's network and support with commercial collaborations on top of capital.
Focus Areas
The site lists five focus areas: AI and deep learning; automation and digitalization; semiconductors and next-generation computing; advanced manufacturing; and mobility solutions. It breaks these into four clusters:
- Automation and electrification: electronics and power electronics, sensors, actuators and MEMS, electric systems including robotics, and autonomous systems.
- Enabling technologies: connectivity, signal processing, enterprise software and AI, modern software technologies, and web-based business models.
- Climate tech: local distribution and storage, efficiency of energy conversion, energy management, and environmental technologies.
- Healthcare: lab and point-of-care diagnostics, chronic disease management with a pulmonary focus, cancer diagnostics, and e-health devices and services.
Stage Focus
The sweet spot is early stage. RBVC also looks at later-stage companies and, in selected cases, seed. Recent rounds range from Series A (Applyo Jena, Tulu, iPRONICS) through Series B (Qdrant, Via Science, 4screen) to a Series C (Quantum Motion).
Check Size
The site states up to EUR 25M per company, up to a 25% equity position, and "100% commitment". The minimum check is not disclosed.
Lead Tendency
RBVC says it prefers to syndicate with existing or new investors and "can take the lead, co-lead or follow as necessary". Press shows all three: it led 4screen's Series B, Via Science's Series B, JetCool's Series A and Aleph Alpha's co-lead, and it participated in Qdrant, Quantum Motion's Series C and Neurophos.
Recent Activity
Fund VI was launched at EUR 250M (following Fund V, also EUR 250M). Recent deals include a co-lead of a strategic round in Nauta (August 2026, alongside BMW i Ventures, Hitachi Ventures and Yamaha Motor Ventures), Quantum Motion's USD 160M Series C, Qdrant's USD 50M Series B, Neurophos's USD 110M round, Tulu's USD 37M Series A, Procurement Sciences' USD 30M Series B, and Cloover's raise of more than USD 1B. A London office opened in 2026. The firm appears to be actively deploying.

Decision Process
RBVC is a corporate investment team inside the Bosch Group with managing directors and investment partners, so decisions most likely go through an investment committee. This is inferred; the site does not describe the process. The firm says it can also take board seats and helps startups with commercial collaborations with Bosch business units (Open Bosch).
Founder Preferences
Deep-tech founders with a technical edge in hardware, semiconductors, AI, energy or industrial software, and a plausible link to Bosch's markets (automotive, industrial, home, energy). Not stated explicitly on the site.
Geographic Focus
Offices in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Sunnyvale, Boston, Tel Aviv, Shanghai and London. The portfolio spans the US, Germany and wider Europe, China, Israel, Canada and Singapore.
