PeerCapital Research
Investment Thesis
PeerCapital is a Bengaluru-based early-stage venture fund that describes itself as "Early Stage Venture Capital, for Peers, by Peers." It backs seed to Series A companies with a bias for capital-efficient businesses. Its stated meta-themes are digital consumption enablers and Applied AI, with focus areas in B2C and B2B commerce, entertainment, fintech, health, consumer AI and enterprise AI. The firm leans on a "Building from Bharat, building for Bharat" framing and invests in companies registered in India and overseas that share that mission.
Stage Focus
Seed to Series A. The portfolio page tags investments by cheque band ($500K or $500K-2M), consistent with initial seed cheques and selective follow-ons.
Check Size
Initial cheques of up to INR 15 Cr (about $2M), with meaningful reserves held for follow-ons. Portfolio tags show $500K and $500K-2M bands.
Lead Tendency
The firm says it is happy to lead or co-invest with peer firms. It led Fabriclore's $1.6M round alongside Regal Group, co-led Flash's $6.7M round with Blume Ventures and Vaaree's $4M seed with Peak XV's Surge, and took part in the Stupa and TyrePlex rounds. Lead tendency: both.
Recent Activity
First close of its maiden fund was INR 300 Cr (about $37M) in February 2023 against a reported INR 900 Cr target. Most recent dated announcements on its own site are TyrePlex's INR 20 Cr round (January 2025), Fabriclore (July 2024) and Stupa's INR 28 Cr pre-Series A (May 2024). The portfolio page now also lists newer AI-native companies (Game State Labs, Redacto, SpillGames, Webless) at the $500K band, which indicates the fund is still deploying. Third-party aggregators suggest a 2026 seed in Spill Games, not verified against a primary source.

Partnership with an IC. The stated process is an initial meeting, second and third deep-dive meetings, reference calls, then a pitch to the full team at IC, with a decision within 24-48 hours and a term sheet if yes. Founders can expect a response in 2-3 days.
Founder Preferences
Founders playing the long game with purpose, grit and resourcefulness. The firm says it does not require domain experience or a particular school. It expects to take a board seat, possibly passing it to later investors.
